Duties & Responsibilities:

The Sales & Operations Associate will be a key position in the delivery of outstanding customer experience and growth in the Ottawa irrigation market.  The Sales & Operations Associate will report to the Golf & Landscape Business Operations Manager and Landscape Sales Manager. This position offers a future growth path towards outside sales or advancement within the inside operations team.

Job Description:

  • Service existing accounts to ensure the prompt delivery of irrigation goods, as well as technical and business services when needed. 
  • Work in conjunction with the Project Coordinator, Sales Managers and other team members to service accounts and generate/grow new and existing business from Landscape, Irrigation, Lighting, and other relevant contractors while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Lead the operations effort in the Ottawa location and guide excellence through example.
  • Foster relationships with customers, vendors and other industry professionals.
  • Be an “Ambassador” for Vanden Bussche Irrigation & Equipment Ltd Brand.
  • Win, manage, track, and support landscape projects in the territory.
  • Use the company ERP system (Cloud Suite Distribution – (CSD)):
    • Order Entry
    • Tracking Open Orders
    • Tracking Open Purchase Orders
    • Monitoring Customer Account Activity
    • Inventory Monitoring and Management Use CallProof - the Vanden Bussche Irrigation & Equipment CRM (Customer Relationship Management Tool). This includes but is not limited to:
    • Entering new account information
    • Updating existing account information
    • Entering relevant opportunities
    • Logging incoming and outgoing phone calls using the CRM app
    • General data management
  • Use and monitor the Podium text tool where relevant, to help deal with customer communication with the branches.
  • Facilitate and fulfill value added design services to contractors on their projects.
  • Work with the Inside Sales and Operations Teams (branch managers etc.) to ensure excellent customer fulfillment.
  • Learn and work with each division (landscape, golf, agriculture) and leverage any opportunities available across those disciplines.  Diesel ag pumps that may be sold in the golf and landscape divisions for example.

  • Be process oriented with attention to detail.


  • 3 - 5 years of experience in business-to-business sales and customer service – preferably in the landscape lighting / landscape irrigation industry.
  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma
  • Irrigation Sales: 3 years
