Travis all galvanized steel risers provide an outlet from buried PVC pipe to above ground Aluminum Pipe and incorpoate a Univerisal Upward Opening Valve. These universal valves work with new style Rainway, A & M (Anderson & Miller) and Ames.

The riser side arms serve two primary purposes. Single arms are for mounting Air Release Vents which expels the air trapped in the buried PVC line, dampening water hammer and preventing ruptures and fractures and are recommened on all risers on an underground line. Risers with double arms accommodate Air Release Vent and Pressure Relief Valve. Pressure Relief Valves are usually placed at the beginning and at end of the underground PVC lines, these alves provide a measure of safety, by opening to reduce elevated pressures.
