Dripperlines are connected to a variety of header lines eitehr directly to the header line or with an intermediary line. The intermediary line has no emitter, so field headlands are not irrigated.

Also an intermediary line allows you to place the header line at the edge of the field so it does not interfere with other farm operations. IPS Hose and Netafim Tubing are popular choices to connect dripperlines to header lines.
