Air/Vacuum Relief Vents are an important component in an Irrigation System. Their first role is to expel the air trapped in the irrigation system which dampens water hammer, and prevents ruptures and cracking. Their second role is to relieve the vacuum caused when the system/zone is shut down. This prevents the collapse of pipes and the suction of soil into dripperlines. Continuous Acting Vents will also expel air while the system is pressurized. Continuous Combination Vents are placed at:
- Pump stations
- Filter stations
- High points in the pipe network
- Upstream of manifolds
Guardian Vents are commonly used downstream of valves & manifolds and on the end of header lines/flush out lines.
